What is Amaranth?
The Rose, saddened, even by its beauty, knows that
come winter it's petals will wither and fade, then die.
The Amaranth, always beautiful, petals never fade,
for it is eternal, everlasting, immortal.

Bon Temps is in a state of recovery after the brutal slayings of several of its citizens, killings done by the hands of Rene, an anti-vampire fanatic. Now all that is left to do is clean up and move on from the insidious crimes, building back the pieces lost in the wake of the terror Rene had forged on the small, isolated town in Louisiana. Sookie Stackhouse and her brother Jason, must rebuild their family, after the dreadful lost of their beloved Gran.

There is a new evil living amongst us.
And she demands a sacrifice for her god.

A new face, Maryann, has entered the boundaries of Bon Temps, making not a noise about her presence, as she lives quietly on the outskirts, slowly getting her hands wet of the vulnerable lives of the people. However, she does have her eyes, set on two people in particular: one she plans to convert, one she plans to sacrifice as a golden gift to Greek god Dionysus. She will stop at nothing in getting what she wants, and will not let anything stand in her way to get it. She has someone in position, someone to lure in her desired soul.

The maenad is not the only threat,
as a more darker adversary begins his
initial step in collecting ultimate power.

A spy is living amongst them, the eyes and ears of the mysterious stranger who remains outside of Louisiana. His reputation precedes him, as he is a collect of unique abilities. And a powerful energy has attracted his attention to the small town of Bon Temps. His obsession for power overwhelms his state of mind, as soon or later, he will come to collect.
